The Night Before....

It's the night before the big day and I'm already exhausted!

Tomorrow I will embark on a 15 hour flight from London Heathrow, stopping over in Mumbai to change planes before finally arriving in Bangkok on the morning of the 7th of September.

At this point, I am armed with my copy of Alex Garland's 'The Beach' kindly handed to me by Jess Brandler with an inscription telling me to 'do what it says', an enormous back-pack full to the brim of my best summer clothes, bikinis, and a hefty amount of mosquito repellent! As this is the first time traveling alone, I can't say the above makes me feel too prepared!

My last western meal has been devoured.....(an unimpressive sausage tortellini dish) and my stomach is now eagre to settle back into asian cuisine....although, sorry jess, i won't be drinking snakes blood as Leonardo Dicaprio did in the movie.

So my month in Thailand is about to begin and hopefully, when I return I will have a PADI qualification to add to my CV, enough pad-thai to last me a year, a few fake ralph lauren polos tucked into my back-pack, a golden tan and a lifetime of memories.

First stop.....the Koh San Road....
